i stopped making new year’s resolutions a few years ago when decided it was a futile exercise designed to make me feel shitty about myself; especially since i didn’t keep them up past january 3rd. this year i am taking it a step further – i am making a list of what i resolve not to do this year. i am optimistic i will have no problem with this year’s list…
for 2010, the year of the gggb, i resolve NOT to:
- eat less, drink less, or exercise more.
- make my bed.
- stop procrastinating.
- text less & call more.
- listen to my voice mails.
- cut back on shoe, purse, & coat purchases.
- remember coupons.
- give up $4.00 daily lattes.
- kick my kids out of my bed at night.
- stop making multiple lists of crap to do that i wont do anyway.
- clean more.
- get up earlier than my kids on school days.
- squeeze my kids’ tushies less.
- drink enough water.
- floss. ever.
- lose that eternal 5 pounds.
- conserve light bulbs in these most “dire economic times.”
- worry about the small stuff or even most of the big stuff.
- stop missing my dad every day.
- brush my teeth before noon.
- stop picking my zits.
- eat less chocolate.
- “rescuing” stray change or bills from the laundry.
- stop embarrassing my girls by wearing my jammies & slippers to put them on the bus every morning.
- make anything for breakfast that can not be microwaved & ready for consumption in 23 seconds.
- keep the civil in civilization.
- make any real resolutions.
hmm. seems a lot like 2009…
